Yak breeding at La Giette

The farm at La Giette is dedicated to raising yaks as pack animals. A pioneer in working with these animals in Europe, Rosula has spent more than 15 years of her life with yaks, observing and documenting their behavior. Alone or in team with a friend she has been leading them on over 2200km across the Alps - without counting the regular yak treks she organizes and guides for clients.

For eight weeks, they became “Drogpas,” high-altitude nomads, living at the pace of the yaks, sharing the efforts of this 600 km journey with their animals and crossing 36 passes and a large glacier.
