Welcome
in La Giette
« Yak shu lo ché » is a little mountain farm at the far end of the Val d'Hérens, facing the majestic Dent Blanche. This small estate with the beauty of the old buildings, the care of the land in all its diversity, the craftwork, the dry stone walls, the animals and their stories—is like a living, dynamic work of art that is continually refined and extended. It is the ark that shelters, inspires, supports, and enables my various activities. It is a vessel where stories can be created, developed and passed on; a place for meeting and sharing. It is a way of life in harmony with the mountains, nature, and animals, structured by the rhythm of the seasons and the force of the elements.

QiGong and TaiChi
classes
QiGong and Tai Chi are traditional Chinese disciplines. QiGong is more internal and simpler in its movements. It could be called the mother of Tai Chi, which develops these movements into a choreographed sequence born from inner silence and performed with delicacy and fluidity.

Le Silence des Yaks
This book, dedicated to my first yak Kubilaï, is the result of more than six years of collaboration with photographer Bertrand Carlier, who followed the herd through the mountains on treks, expeditions, pastoral migrations, summer pasture ascents, and winter storms. His photos invite us to travel with my yak caravan through landscapes that make us dream of faraway places. In the accompanying texts, I talk about my encounter with Kubilai, my learning process with the yaks, and my solo travels with Naulekh. Throughout the seasons, I share glimpses of my life with the yaks and try to capture those moments of silence that the yaks have brought me and that have left such a lasting impression on me.

« I am a yak herder and caravan leader. I live with my herd and two dogs on a small mountain farm at 1,800 meters. I love this simple, wild life, close to the earth and the animals, lin sync with nature and the weather. I love crossing the mountains at the pace of my yaks. I love wandering alone in the company of a dog and a yak. This is what nourishes my existence.
I am an artist, researcher, QiGong teacher, and acupuncturist for animals. Over the years, the three guiding threads of my life have become increasingly intertwined, strengthening each other to form a single cord and forge my identity: a love for nature and animals; an intellectual curiosity and spiritual quest; and finally, a love of storytelling through drawing, writing, dancing, and creating. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by faraway places, curious to see what lies beyond the horizon, passionate about reading and traveling to unknown lands, both in the outside world and within myself. I lived in Japan for five years, apprentice with a butoh dance company. I completed a master's degree in scenography in London before settling in Valais and beginning to travel with my yaks to better understand them and decipher their behavior. My work aims to explore and deepen the communication between humans and yaks. It is part of a quest to evolve the relationship between humans and animals. I see and respect animals as conscious beings with an experience of the world specific to their species, each with unique potential. »
